What Brought My Hair Back?
- Exercise
- Good Food
- Rogaine
Of course, this is my personal experience, and what worked for me may not work the same way for everyone.
About five years ago, I started noticing something I really didn't want to see: I was losing hair.
I tried not to think about it at first. I told myself it was just part of getting older. But eventually, I had to admit that my hair was definitely getting thinner.
Then I decided to do something about it.
My approach was pretty simple: Rogaine, exercise, and good food. I didn't expect a miracle overnight, and I certainly didn't think my hair would suddenly look like it did when I was 20. But over time, I started noticing a difference.
And today, I can honestly say: I got a lot of my hair back.
More importantly, I got something else back—my confidence.
I've learned that confidence isn't necessarily about having a perfect head of hair, a perfect body, or looking younger than you are. It's about taking care of yourself and feeling good about the person you see in the mirror.
Of course, I still have a hairstyle that some people might recognize.
Think Jude Law or Michael Fassbender—that slightly receding, mature-but-stylish look.
I'm definitely not saying I look like either of them! But I'll gladly take the comparison when it comes to the hairstyle.
What has made the biggest difference for me, though, isn't just the hair.
It's exercise.
I've talked before about my push-ups and pull-ups, and I've continued working on them. There's something incredibly satisfying about realizing that you can still get stronger as you get older. Every extra push-up, every pull-up, every workout reminds me that age doesn't automatically mean giving up.
The same goes for food. I've become more conscious of what I put into my body: You are what you eat. Good food, regular exercise, and consistency may sound boring, but I've found that those simple habits can make a surprisingly big difference.
And if you want to see another part of my life, check out MamaKim's Kitchen on YouTube. My wife enjoys sharing food and cooking, and it's another reminder that taking care of yourself doesn't mean you have to stop enjoying life.
Looking back, losing my hair five years ago was frustrating. But maybe it was also a wake-up call. It pushed me to pay more attention to myself—to exercise, eat better, and take action instead of simply accepting things as they were. I'm not trying to turn back the clock. I'm trying to make the next chapter better than the last one. So, if you're going through something similar, don't lose confidence. Take care of yourself, stay active, eat well, and be consistent.
And remember: your best years don't necessarily have to be behind you. Sometimes, you just need to keep going. And yes...if Jude Law and Michael Fassbender can rock the hairstyle, maybe I can too.
