| Adobe Certified Expert Certificate |
I've earned several certificates over the years since I came to Canada to work here. And here's something I wish to share with more people:
Certificates are not as important as many people think.
They can definitely help when you are a new graduate trying to land your first job. A certificate shows you are willing to learn, have tried hard, and can help your resume get noticed among candidates when you don't have any experience.
I tried to get certificates like A+, Network+, MCP(Microsoft Certified Professional), and ACE(Adobe Certified Expert).
It took years to get them, and I was even overwhelmed and almost cried when I got the first certificate. But later I realized that I didn't need the certificates anymore after several years of working as a computer technician.
Your projects, real-world experience, and problem-solving skills matter far more than the number of certificates on your profile.
I've interviewed and worked with people who had dozens of certificates but struggled to apply what they learned. I've also met professionals with no certificates at all who consistently delivered outstanding results because they had hands-on experience.
A certificate is proof that you completed a course or program—not proof that you mastered the skill.
If you're deciding between spending 100 hours getting another certificate or 100 hours building a project and solving a real business-related problem, I'd absolutely recommend choosing the second one.
Learn continuously—but don't confuse collecting certificates with building expertise.
Knowledge will start your career, and experience will make your career successful.
